UFC 131 gives Rosa a chance to make impact Fighting as the opening bout on the card for UFC 131 doesn’t exactly mean you’ve arrived, but it does mean that you’ll be watched. For Aaron Rosa tomorrow night might be just the chance he needs to make a name for himself in the heavyweight division. UFC is not unlike boxing in that when a quality heavyweight steps up they take notice. With a 16-3 record he’s building momentum in the division and comes with a very good skill set. Four wins have been by submission, while six have been by TKO. This is growing his reputation as one of the better up and coming fighters in his division. His style is akin to the old rope a dope. So for Rosa to get a clean win, which he absolutely needs, he’s going to have to bring everything he’s got and even that might not be enough. For Rosa, he’s likely to win the fight but it might not be in a manner that helps his career. He needs to make an impression, and the only impression that might be made could be the beating that Beltran takes. Rosa may have to look for another opponent to have his breakout fight with. Beltran’s too tough to be rolled.
