 This Sunday will be the ninth edition of Impact Wrestling (formerly TNA) Slammiversary. Here is a preview and prediction of the matches on the card.
Matt Morgan vs. Scott Steiner I love seeing the "Big Booty Daddy" still going strong in 2011 and anticipate a victory for him over "The Prototype" Matt Morgan. "Big Poppa Pump" Scott Steiner wins to keep his momentum going strong and possibly stay in line for a title run in the near future. Crimson vs. Samoa Joe Joe needs a victory to keep his momentum going. He looked good at the last pay per view and the cell phone fight with Crimson was a finishing touch. Expect this TNA legend to pick up the win here. Last Man Standing Match: Bully Ray vs. AJ Styles A good interesting matchup of two different wrestling styles. I expect this one to be a brawl and possibly an interference from Brother Devon. Both these guys are not in the title picture but a win for AJ Styles would keep his momentum strong for his next feud. Abyss (X-Division Champion) vs. The Brian Kendrick vs. Kazarian I love the idea of the monster Abyss holding onto the X-Division champion. I really like the idea of him becoming a powerhouse and holding onto two belts. That being said, I expect a good fight from these talented wrestlers with Abyss coming out on top once again. Jeff Jarrett vs. Kurt Angle Stipulation in place for this match if Angle loses, he forfeits his Olympic Gold Medal to Jeff Jarrett. This is ultimately what Jeff Jarrett wants and the only thing that Kurt Angle has left in Jarrett's mind. I am a huge Angle fan and do not want to see him go out like this so I am pulling for Angle in this victory. I hope this is an end to this classic rivalry and Angle moves on to compete for the World Title. Really anything can happen but my fingers will be crossed for Angle. Mickie James (Women's Champion) vs. Angelina Love Angelina Love is slowing growing on me as a good female wrestler to be reckoned with in TNA. I love her possessed queen gimmick and I think it gives her an edge over female wrestling gimmicks we have seen in the past. She is like a "Xena" warrior princess in the ring. Mickie James is super talented, super good looking but I think its time we see a new women's champion and Angelina Love gets the win here. Gun Money (Tag Team Champions) vs. The British Invasion I expect British Invasion to get the upset win over Gun Money. They get a clean win over Gun Money and some more prestige attached to their name. Maybe they hold on the belts till the next PPV but these guys give Impact Wrestling another formidable tag team duo. Sting (World Champion) vs. Mr. Anderson I love the impersonations of classic Sting from Mr. Anderson. They are pretty spot on and Mr. Anderson actually looks a lot like Sting in the yellow and gold facepaint. That being said, Sting is the face of the company and I don't see him out the title picture just yet. Expect a victory for the Stinger and him to move on to face another opponent, possibly Big Poppa Pump, Kurt Angle or Double J. Mr. Anderson has really made himself into a main event player in TNA and I want to continue to see him succeed at the rate he's been going.
