Phil Ivey Boycotts World Series of Poker Due to Full Tilt Lock Out Never underestimate the heart of a good guy. Behind the blank stare of Phil Ivey lies the psyche of a man that will not stand for injustice. Ivey is like some sort of legal super hero. This includes Full Tilt Poker, a company that Ivey has lent his name and image. MUST READ: The NFL All-Arrest Pro Team Since that time, the Feds have worked to release the funds to locked out online players. The money they had in their poker accounts will eventually, and hopeful, make their way back to the players. Full Tilt however, has remained stout in locking their coffers. Ivey has had enough it seems. ESPN reports the poker star will sit out the World Series of Poker as well as file a suit against Full Tilt Poker. Ivey released a statement on his Facebook page. A snippet of the statement follows. I am deeply disappointed and embarrassed that Full Tilt players have not been paid money they are owed. I am equally embarrassed that as a result many players cannot compete in tournaments and have suffered economic harm. I am not playing in the World Series of Poker as I do not believe it is fair that I compete when others cannot. I am doing everything I can to seek a solution to the problem as quickly as possible. It would be extremely easy for Ivey to stay clear of this mess. There are a great many poker starts affiliated with the company. It takes a forward thinker that values his reputation to step up in such a way. With so many players making their living online, you can bet that more than a few are paranoid about their livelihood. Ivey should be applauded for taking such a stance.
