NCAA Baseball Super Regionals Results Prove Florida Gators Were Too Much For Mississippi State to Handle in Game One of Super Regionals The College World Series Super Regionals are underway and the Florida Gators made a statement in the first game of their Super Regional series with Mississippi State defeating the Bulldogs by a score of 11-1. Florida got off to a quick 4-0 lead in the first inning following a two-run single by Mike Zinino and a two-run double by Tyler Thompson. By the end of the third inning it seemed that Florida had built an insurmountable 7-0 lead following home runs by Zinino and Nolan Fontana. Hudson Randall took the mound for the Gators and looked every bit as dominate as expected. He pitched eight innings and recorded eight strikeouts for the Gators while giving up only one run. Mississippi State opted to start freshman Evan Mitchell on the mound and he appeared the part of a freshman starting in the Super Regionals. The offense also struggled for Mississippi State and they are going to need to play a lot better if they want to advance to Omaha. It seems the writing is all but on the wall for the Florida to head west to Omaha in pursuit of another National Championship.
