You know Gasmii, I keep trying not to think of this show as The Real Housewives of Staten Island. But, it’s so difficult. The dramas are just as petty and when you have a dinner party devolve into a catfight it becomes that much more difficult. Granted, nothing can top the deliciousness that is a full out brawl at a christening, but the Mob Wives are doing their best to live up to that standard of class set by the Jersey Housewives.
What’s really bothersome to me is that these women have fathers and husbands in prison, and children who are growing up fully aware of their fathers’ jailbird status and acting out or withdrawing because of it. You would think that they would have more important things to fight about than boyfriends and ex-boyfriends. And yet…
This week, we find out that Drita and Karen didn’t really resolve anything after last week’s standoff. Renee is really pissed at Carla’s boyfriend and Carla really thinks Renee should mind her own business. Meanwhile, things are on an upswing for Drita and Lee and she does a sexy photo shoot for him. I do hope Lee isn’t trading photos of Drita for cigarettes in the joint, but I get the impression that he is pretty slimy so I wouldn’t put it past him.
Carla told her boyfriend that Renee was talking shit about him. He sent Renee a text message telling her to mind her own business. Renee didn’t take kindly to that so she called him, put him on speaker in front of her son and got cussed out for he troubles. Now Renee feels disrespected and I’m not sure what she is expecting Carla to do – break up with him, maybe?
Drita sides with Carla, Karen sides with Renee. The drama fest that is Sunday dinner turns into a hair pulling, wrestling on the floor, bitches screaming catfight. Drita takes off her shoes to break the shit up and even production got involved. There is a lot of screaming, yelling, and bleeping of foul language. Not to mention all kinds of hysterical crying from our resident Drag Queen, Renee G. Apparently, the best way to bring Carla out of her coma is to talk smack about her boyfriend. And the worst thing you could possibly do to a drag queen is pull her hair extensions (see, the Housewives comparison is just too easy)
Next week it looks like the screaming continues and Karen continues to bitch about a relationship that she doesn’t care the least bit about. I am still not sure how I am feeling about Renee this week, but I will have it all sorted out for you by the time I get the full recap up.
What did you think of the fight? Did it live up to your expectations? Did you kind of wish that Drita had thrown someone across the room? >
