 Miami Heat basketball is hanging in the balance these days after the Dallas Mavericks came back from a fourth-quarter 15-point deficit in Game 2 in Miami to even the series at 1-1 in the 2011 NBA Finals.
Tonight marks the start of a three-game set in Dallas, where a sweep of the Heat would grant the Mavericks redemption after losing to the Heat in the 2006 NBA Finals behind Dwyane Wade and the recently-retired Shaquille O'Neal. However, things are different this time around, perhaps more daunting for the Mavericks. They face Wade, LeBron James and Chris Bosh, a trio that surpasses the 2005-06 Heat team in terms of pure talent. But talent isn't everything. The NBA has always been a team game (yes, even when Michael Jordan played). The champion this year will be the best team. As for Bosh, it may be fitting that he recently came out and said he's been eating "garbage, junk food," to get "that road feel," because, well, he's been playing like garbage in the first two games of the finals (I'm sorry, Heat fans, but it's true). In baseball news, New York Yankees star Alex Rodriguez has reportedly been taking his cousin, Yuri Sucart, along with him on road trips. Why should we care? Well, Sucart is the same Sucart that was banned from the Yankees after Alex Rodriguez admitted in 2009 that he procured performance-enhancing drugs for him. So much drama and so little time. So let's get started, shall we?
