Fourth Seeded Victoria Azarenka Is Maria Sharapova's Toughest Competition Left In The 2011 French Open Maria Sharapova defeated Agnieszka Radwanska today to move on to the quarterfinals of the 2011 French Open. With top seeds Caroline Wozniacki, Kim Clijsters, and Vera Zvonareva all eliminated, Victoria Azarenka becomes Sharapova's toughest competition remaining. Azarenka is ranked fourth in the world even though she's never made it out of a quarterfinal in a Grand Slam before. She is favored against the sixth ranked Li Na who was the runner up in the Australian Open. On the other side of the bracket, Francesca Schiavone is the only seed 10 or lower that is left. Even though she isn't the highest ranked, Sharapova is the most experienced in big matches out of any women's tennis player that is still in the tournament. The former world number should be the favorite the rest of the way.
