‘Killer Elite’ Trailer: Statham Like a Hurricane

Here's the trailer for Killer Elite, which is the Jason Statham-iest Jason Statham movie yet. The muscular star plays a killer (elite) whose mentor (Robert De Niro) is kidnapped by another killer (Clive Owen). Cue a rescue attempt and a great many instances of people talking about just what a badass Jason Statham is. Gary McKendry directs this one, which should be an instant ticket purchase for anyone who loved The Mechanic. Check the trailer below. This is not a remake of the late Sam Peckinpah film The Killer Elite (notice this title has no definite article) though this looks like it could be that film's high-energy cousin. Guess that's where the symphony-enhanced version of 'Rock You Like a Hurricane' by the Scorpions comes in. I do like seeing Robert De Niro in something like old Robert De Niro mode, though. Killer Elite opens on September 23, 2011. An ex-special ops agent is lured out of retirement to rescue his mentor. To make the rescue, he must complete a near-impossible mission of killing three tough-as-nails assassins with a cunning leader. Yahoo [1] has the HD feed.
