A photo that was later proved to be a hoax, did the rounds on the internet and quickly went viral. It showed Aston Villa winger and Liverpool target Stewart Downing holding a Liverpool scarf.
It was later proved to be a hoax, as the hand holding the scarf had too many fingers!
Hoax or no hoax, what is most certainly true is that Liverpool are preparing a £15 million offer to Villa for their England international winger.
Downing would be added to Dimitri Payet (if that deal goes through) as the new Liverpool wingers.
