 Of all the teams that have been promoted this season, Queens Park Rangers are making a comeback for the first time in 15 years.
Neil Warnock's side won the Championship with a convincing 88 points. The Hoops lost six games in the league but were forcing their way to the top of the table. Even the FA saga regarding the ownership of Argentinian midfielder Faurlin failed to derail the players, as they kept their focus and professionalism to win the title. Neil Warnock's player of the season has to be the talented Adel Taarabt. The 21 year old has scored 19 goals this season, finishing as the top scorer in the league. Taarabt was tops in assists with 16 goals made. The player often described as a fantastic show-boater was named Championship Player of the Season 2010/2011. Taarabt has a wonderful eye for goal, pace and an exquisite first touch. Defenders in the Premier League will hate playing against him. The talented attacking midfielder loves running at defenders and switching direction. He has bags of skills that drag defenders out of place and loves setting up goals. He is already an all round player. The latest rumours state that Chelsea and Arsenal are keen to sign him. QPR can stay in the Premier League. They have a wonderful youngster and and a good team. They need to build on it and build the team around Taarabt. It is crucial he stays for at least six months and players are brought in to support him. It is self destructive to rely on a young player like Taarabt in the Premier League. There are a number of players with Premier League experience who have been released this summer and would fit in well at QPR, notably Nigel Reo-Cocker, John Carew, James McFadden, Benjani, Jlloyd Samuel, Zoltan Gera, Jonathan Woodgate, Abdoulaye Méîté, Jonathan Spector, and Matthew Upson. Now I am not saying all those players should be signed, but according to a report on sporting blog, "Who ate all the pies," they are available on a free transfer. Some of these would be good additions to the squad and can help bolster the squad in terms of depths and top flight experience. Of all the three teams, QPR have the ingredients, the passion, the fight and the support of a Premier League club that can survive in this league for many years to come.
