Mondo has just released the final two posters in their Guillermo Del Toro Director's Series and, big surprise, they're gorgeous. Artists Vania Zouravliov and Aaron Horkey have teamed up to make a poster for Del Toro's 2001 film The Devil's Backbone, and Martin Ansin has created a poster for Del Toro's directorial debut, Cronos. The Devil's Backbone, available in three different versions, goes on sale Friday and Cronos will be sometime later. Check out the full images of all of them after the break. The top row is The Devil's Backbone standard (edition of 350, $60) and first Variant, next row is Variant 2 (both variants edition of 90, $90) and Cronos Standard, then finally the Cronos Variant. Those Cronos editions and prices are TBD. The Devil's Backbone goes on sale Friday and they'll announce it on @MondoNews [1] on Twitter. Not to begrudge other people who are putting out awesome posters, but only Mondo makes posters for small, niche films like these and sells them out in minutes. Making a Hellboy poster is cool and it looks great, but it's exciting to imagine there's a person out there who loves these early Del Toro films so much, has never seen any merchandise from them, and freaks out that someone took the time to pay homage to these films in such a beautiful and artistic way.
