Washington Redskins Select Andrew Luck in 2012 NFL Mock Draft
Mike Shanahan and the Washington Redskins continued to trade down in the 2011 draft, bypassing a ton of talent to acquire more picks. In doing so, they passed on a few capable signal-callers.
Turns out, the mad scientist Shanahan did the right thing. His team falls to the bottom of the barrel in 2011 to guarantee the top quarterback prospect in the class, Stanford Cardinal quarterback Andrew Luck.
Luck could very well be a future multi-time MVP of the NFL with his otherworldly natural abilities. He has incredible foot work in the pocket, has great awareness and vision. He can scramble with Aaron Rodgers-esque speed. He has a brilliant arm, both pinpoint accurate and seemingly rocket powered.
Unlike those before him who dropped in the draft due to an average return season, Luck stays atop the class. He legitimately, unlike Matt Leinart and Jake Locker, has every tool necessary to be a true superstar in today’s game.
How many other quarterbacks do this? None. If that doesn’t sell you, nothing will. That is extreme dedication, aggression and power right there.
He will completely turn around this Washington Redskins organization. He is the quarterback owner Daniel Snyder has been desperately searching for during his tenure. Not only will he start as a rookie, he should lead the team into the postseason as a rookie phenom.
Luck is a once in a decade type of player and Washington wins the sweepstakes.
