2011 NBA Mock Draft May See Jimmer Fredette Slide After Kemba Walker Duck
Jimmer Fredette should be angrier than a lightweight boxer wanting to get a chance at the title. Fredette had his chance to shine at a Sacramento Kings workout.
It was one that would have pitted him against Kemba Walker. Two of the best point guards in the nation last year would have done battle for the Kings. The only question is why there wasn't talk of it being televised.
I would have laid down a pretty penny to watch that contest. Multiple sources are reporting that Walker ducked the workout quicker than Floyd Mayweather did with Manny Pacquiao.
Fredette just lost out on a potential semi-truck worth of cash. I still take Kemba Walker's potential career over Fredette's. However, Fredette would have nothing to lose in a workout with Walker, someone who is consistently rated about ten picks higher than Jimmer.
In all reality, Walker couldn't have taken the Kings offer to match wits. Even if the workout was a wash, Kemba would have dropped from the top ten quicker than Kwame Brown drops passes.
This was an easy decision, but one that should irritate Jimmer to no end. Let's say the two were pitted one on one. An awesome jump shooter with great drive ability in Jimmer would get a chance to test a great shooter with awesome ability to drive.
The only way Kemba wins is if he blows Jimmer out of the water. Why attempt such a feat? He is already looking at the top five. Fredette is left to answer his critics next season in the NBA.
