According to Gery Woelfel of The Journal Times, the Minnesota Bucks have more than a passing interest in Providence guard Marshon Brooks. Woelfel writes that the Bucks hosted Brooks for a second workout on June 21, their interest clearly piqued by the nation’s second-leading scorer in 2010-11. Brooks, who was once considered a late first-round selection, has rocketed up draft boards by impressing several NBA teams at prospect workouts, and is currently favored at a top-15 selection. It is not entirely out of the question that Brooks will go tenth overall to Milwaukee, certainly a far cry from his projected draft position upon exiting Providence. In the same article, Woelfel mentions that the Bucks are interested in trading for Indiana Pacers shooting guard Brandon Rush. Could the Bucks send their tenth overall pick to Indiana for Rush and the Pacers’ 15th pick, hoping to land Brooks at fifteen overall? It would seem to be a bit of a gamble, but such a deal is not entirely out of the question, either.
