Reports Say Miami Heat Won't Let Reggie Jackson Slip Past #31 in 2011 NBA Draft More NBA Draft buzz from ESPN NBA guru Chad Ford, who reported via Twitter today that Boston College guard Reggie Jackson has cancelled all of his remaining workouts, thereby indicating that he has a promise from someone in the 2011 NBA Draft. Ford also tweeted that Jackson's camp told interested teams that he couldn't work out for teams due to injury, and there's no word yet as to which teams, if any, have given Jackson a guarantee. Speculation thus far has centered on the New Jersey Nets and the Boston Celtics, though Ford says those teams have not extended such certainty Jackson's way. In the end, it could very well be the Miami Heat who pick up Jackson with the 31st pick. LeBron James' NBA Finals struggles aside, this year's runners-up struggled all year to find consistent guard play alongside Dwyane Wade, waffling back and forth between Mario Chalmers and Carlos Arroyo at the point before adding Mike Bibby into the mix. The Heat have already extended a qualifying offer to Chalmers, a restricted free agent, but aren't expected to pursue Bibby when he enters the open market on July 1st. Adding the 6'3" Jackson would give coach Erik Spoelstra an intriguing young guard who can play alongside D-Wade in the team's back court and slide over to the off-guard spot to spell Wade when necessary. 1.
