2011 NBA Mock Draft Looks at the Washington Wizards Playoff Chances in 2011-2012 Season After Draft The Washington Wizards won a combined 68 games the past three seasons, only 23 last year. Point guard John Wall, the former No. 1 pick, is the real deal and is set to change the fortunes for the Wizards, who decided to go "throwback" with their uniforms, once and for all. The old school red, white and blue Bullets uniforms, now featuring the name Wizards instead, at least give Washington a better look for next year. And another way to make them look better for next year is to land quality players with their three picks in the top 34 (Nos. 6, 18, 34). Must Read: 50 Sexiest European Sports Hotties The Wizards were widely linked to a trade for the No. 2 pick involved young center JaVale McGee. The 7' youngster is a rare find though and the Wizards would nobody to replace him, even if they had the No. 2 pick. It is within their best interest to hold onto McGee and that now seems to be the expected route. So with three picks, what should the Wizards do? At No. 6 they have a number of options and they are one of the few teams that can completely avoid the point guard position. If Enes Kanter or Jan Vesely are on the board they will likely take one of them. But they also have heavy interest in swing players Kawhi Leonard and Tristan Thompson, two of the draft's more intriguing players. All four would be good options at No. 6, with Kanter being a good value and Leonard/Thompson possibly being considered reaches, but they fit the Washington system extremely well; they could even take Klay Thompson if they believed in his shooting stroke enough. The No. 18 pick obviously hinges on what happens at No. 6, but they could be staring at fantastic prospects like Jordan Hamilton or Markieff Morris. And at No. 34 the Wizards will have the opportunity to take the best available player on the board. A lineup featuring John Wall, JaVale McGee and any combination of Kanter/Vesely and Hamilton or Leonard/Thompson and Morris instantly gives this team a plethora of talented youths to move forward with (and yes that is me exlcuding Nick Young and Rashard Lewis who could both be on their way out). It will take time, but I see no reason why a young team like this (if they took these players) couldn't challenge teams like Indiana, Charlotte, Milwaukee and even New Jersey for one of the last two playoff spots in the East.
